Since when is Lincoln "Luxury"?

(not trying to hate, I like their designs personally but they aren't luxury.)

u mad son
They're not Rolls-Royces, but they're much fancier than your average car. Just because they aren't making Continentals and K-Series like in the days of old doesn't mean they're not luxury.

Lincoln is luxury historically, not so much lately. That MKR was an ultra luxury conept that sadly was never put into production.
Back in the 50s, Lincolns were some of the most luxurious cars on the roads, going up against the likes of Rolls Royce. this Continental II was $10,000 in 1956 - about the same as a Roller or twice as much as a 1956 Cadillac. Ford still lost money on every one they sold, but it was worth it as putting themselves out there as the ultimate in luxury.

I consider Cadillac luxury. Lincoln is on par with Chrysler.

Couldn't agree with you more. Back in their hay day they were amazing. I still like driving their now "classic" models. I wish they could reach this again since just having Cadillac as a US Luxury maker sucks :/

Chrysler is sort of luxury too, at least for now.

It's up market but not quite luxury. I love the 300, I'm looking at adding one to my stable, but it's nothing next to a CTS.

A lot better looking in my opinion. They fudged up the new CTS. The 300 has a unique American mobster look to it that no other car has.

Try driving both cars for at least week and you'll change your mind ;)

The Chrysler is just more my style. It's subtle, somehow, compared to the (relatively) pretentious Cadillac.

I disagree but to each his own. I've driven both lineups for at least a week each and I just feel Chrysler has a ton of gaping holes to be considered luxury.

The new 200 fixes that mess (I hope) but I won't judge until it's settled. The previous one I had for exactly a week. I couldn't handle it any longer it was slow, noisy, uncomfortable and felt cheap next to a first gen Versa. #notluxury
The Chrysler Town & Country is out dated and is frankly, just a nice "pretty" version of the DGC. It's a great van and was perfect for my road trip last summer but in no way is it "luxury".
Throw in the fact that Chrysler a volume producer that is only producing 3 models. The 300 is the only solid car there and even then, it's finish is not the same as a CTS or ATS. Heck, I'm actually looking at a 2013 (300) right now (white).

That said I guess in some ways it's all relative. Some people consider Allen Edmonds shoes, while others consider Canali or Prada high-end.

Well actually I was referring to the 300 alone, but thanks for the in-depth answer anyway. I think a minivan can be luxury though, and if any production minivan is, I'd say that is it (or the new one will be more so: hard to believe it will get 75 MPG).
